Wishing Stars

In a cafe, I ordered wishing stars,

Against a green sky they are set,

Because inside my heart is a field of wars,

God knows I need all the wishes that I can get.

I ate the wishing stars of different colours,

Ate them all until they reached the bottom of the cup,

But I still felt empty and I wanted more,

I wanted them all because I knew my time is up.

It was time to leave but I still have more stars,

But how come if I have more, you’re still not here,

Trying to reach you in a field full of stalled cars,

Whatever sins I have, I already paid for them dear.
